Our Shenandoah Laboratories division is an approved NAVSEA testing lab performing shock analysis using a medium-weight shock test machine. Shenandoah Laboratories employees combine 80 years of technical competencies in testing marine products. In 1967 Shenandoah Laboratories was the first non-military test facility to provide shock testing for the U.S. Navy, and has performed more than 4,000 shock qualifying and research and development tests since then.
Our research and development efforts are widely known and highly respected. Working closely with the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard, it is our goal to develop better materials and installation techniques that improve performance and reduce cost. We are proud to have successfully completed a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant to develop new lightweight, low-cost fire-barrier systems for Navy ships.
• Medium-weight shock testing per MIL-S-901D
• Non-combustibility testing per IMO FTP Code Part I
• Surface flammability testing per IMO FTP Code Part 5
• Vibration testing per MIL-STD-167
• Load testing per MIL-PRF-32038
• Instrumentation to conduct acceleration analysis for items shock-tested
